32 stolen vehicles worth Rs 12 lakh found,3 arrested

The North Division police recovered 32 stolen two-wheelers worth Rs 12 lakh following the arrest of three persons.

The North Division police recovered 32 stolen two-wheelers worth Rs 12 lakh following the arrest of three persons. Police identified the accused as Rizwan alias Chikkasab (19) of Sunkadakatte,Amal Jain (25) of RT Nagar and Anand (20) of Geddalahalli. The police said the accused stole bikes during the day from parking lots and at night from around houses. They used duplicate keys. The arrests led to detection of offences in Malleshwaram,Rajagopalnagar,Nandini Layout,Sanjaynagar,Subramanyanagar,Basaveshwaranagar,Seshadripuram and Kamakshipalya. DCP (north) Sandeep Patil said the accused disposed the stolen vehicles in the city and also on its outskirts.

4 dacoits held for looting elderly couple

Four dacoits were arrested by the Kadugodi police for allegedly threatening and looting an elderly couple at their house at Kaikondanahalli village a year ago. Police seized stolen property worth Rs 51.82 lakh,including Rs 5.5 lakh cash,following the arrests. Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar said the accused had been identified as Raghu alias Hegde (24) of Kathriguppe,Manu alias Manukumar (26) of KG Nagar,Harishguptha alias Shetty (26) of ITI Colony,Vidhyapeeta Circle and Sagar (24) of Sreerangapatnam in Mandya district.

Police said they solved a case of dacoity reported in HSR Layout police station with the arrest. Six to 10 men had gained forcible entry into the house of senior citizen Ramaiah Reddy on June 19,2012.
