3 killed in separate road accidents

A software engineer and two others were killed in separate accidents in the city Thursday.

Rajesh Venkam,24,of Garvebhavipalya was mowed down by a water tanker while he was crossing a service road in the course of a jog near ICICI Bank in Bommanahalli at around 6 am. The techie hailing from Andhra Pradesh sustained serious injuries and died at the spot. Tanker driver Venkataswamy was arrested by the Madiwala traffic police within four hours of the accident.

A 22-year-old technician with a private firm was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a bus belonging to the Shantiniketan school near his office on 29th Main Road in BTM II stage at around 8.30 am. The Mico Layout traffic police said Shivakumar of Vinayaka Nagar in JP Nagar was going to work. The Gulbarga native suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.

A 37-year-old Kolkata resident who came to the city four days ago to meet a friend was hit and run over by a private bus on Mysore Road near Kengeri at around 2 pm. The police said Pintu Kole was riding pillion with friend Trista Datta,a garment businessman,on a motorcycle. They were coming to the city from Bidadi when the bus belonging to Udayaranga Travels hit them. Datta escaped with minor injuries but Kole fell and was run over.
