YPS student Tricity topper with 95.75%

Scoring 95.75% in science stream, in Class XII ISC exam, Siddhartha Yaddnapudi of Yadvindra Public School (YPS), Mohali became the Tricity topper. ISC result were declared on Saturday. It was a day of celebrations, though the students had to wait for a few hours before they could finally see their results as the website crashed. Topper of commerce stream as well as overall second in Tricity is a student of YPS school, Simrata Kaur Grewal. She has scored 93.75%.

Science

Siddhartha whose parents Narayana Yaddnapudi and Sandhya Yaddnapudi are city-based doctors had opted for both Medical and Non-medical with Biology and Mathematics. He said, “I did not want to confine my options by taking up medical. With my parents being doctors, I have seen the profession closely and wish to pursue it. Taking mathematics gave me wider options. I have taken JEE, AIPMT and also applied to BITS Pilani.” He added that he is yet to decide what he will pursue. What also goes to his credit is that Siddharta has achieved his feat without joining any coaching institute. He opted for self study and said that the teachers in the school are excellent and he needed no additional help.

Commerce

Simrata Kaur Grewal, Commerce topper with 93.25 per cent is also from YPS Mohali. Daughter of Ramandeep Kaur and Jaspreet Singh, she is a resident of Mohali. Her aim is to get admission in Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), New Delhi to pursue Economics Honours. She said, “I was waiting for the results, which is why I did not even apply anywhere but I wish to study at SRCC. After my graduation, my next aim is to join United Nations.”

Humanities

Priya Ahluwalia of YPS who topped in Humanities in Tricity by scoring 91.5 per cent wants to be a criminal psychologist. “I want to pursue BA Honors in Psychology from Delhi University and be a criminal psychologist, I will try for Lady Shri Ram College and I hope to get admission there.” Talking about her success mantra Priya said, “I feel that to get success, one needs to study hard and give his or her 100 per cent.”
