A five-day workshop-cum-training programme on Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health for schoolteachers began on Monday at the Civil Surgeon office here. Civil Surgeon Dr Avtar Singh said the programme was an integral part of the National Rural Health Mission, which prescribes training for all young doctors and teachers. It is important for adolescents to have adequate knowledge of reproductive and sexual health or they might face problems during their crucial growing years, he said. District Family Welfare Officer Dr Vijay Kumar Virdi also spoke on the occasion.
