Women trained on first aid,health techniques

The Department of Life Long Learning and Extension,Panjab University (PU),in collaboration with YWCA,Chandigarh,organised the valedictory function of a 15-day orientation/ training programme from July 11 to July 28,2013 on first aid and home nursing.

The Department of Life Long Learning and Extension,Panjab University (PU),in collaboration with YWCA,Chandigarh,organised the valedictory function of a 15-day orientation/ training programme from July 11 to July 28,2013 on first aid and home nursing.

Renu Gandhi,Co-ordinator,said that the objective of the training programme was to divert the attention of the women to giving importance to first aid and home nursing,like dressing of the wound,reproductive health of pregnant women,oral re-hydration powder,immunisation of the child,prevention of HIV/AIDS,life skill education for adolescents and prevention of mosquito breeding.

Around 50 women attended the programme.

Gandhi added that women in the age group of 15 to 35 years need to have knowledge on first aid techniques,reproductive rights and home nursing and this knowledge will serve as a great force for positive change among women in the society.
