UT kitchen gardeners to get updates on phone

Residents of Chandigarh,Panchkula and Mohali can now get regular updates on their mobile phones to keep their kitchen gardens healthy and blooming.

Residents of Chandigarh,Panchkula and Mohali can now get regular updates on their mobile phones to keep their kitchen gardens healthy and blooming.

The Indian Farmers’ Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) through its mobile-based information platform,IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Limited (IKSL),has launched a voice message service for the kitchen gardening lovers of the tricity.

In a first of its kind initiative in the city,IKSL,a joint venture of IFFCO and Airtel,is offering free of cost voice messages to the kitchen gardeners of the tri-city through the IKSL Green SIM Card. The SIM card can be purchased for a nominal one-time cost following which the subscribers will get lifelong facility of free voice messages from IKSL about kitchen gardening and other citizen-centric information.

Subscribers will get up to two voice messages daily,prepared by horticulture experts from the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU),Ludhiana on the cultivation of flowers,fruits,vegetables,shrubs,climbers,aromatic and medicinal plants,bonsai trees,cacti and succulent plants.

The IKSL Green Card subscribers will also be given a call back facility through the IKSL helpline number 534351 for on-the-spot resolution of gardeners’ queries and problems. To get the IKSL Green SIM Card,residents can call or send an SMS to 9888327161 / 9876580133.
