UT home secy flags off 24 CTU buses

To facilitate commuters,Chandigarh Transport Undertaking on Tuesday introduced 24 buses to run on the metro routes. Known as Metro Routes Bus Service,the same were flagged off today by UT Home Secretary-cum-Transport Secretary Anil Kumar.

To facilitate commuters,Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) on Tuesday introduced 24 buses to run on the metro routes. Known as Metro Routes Bus Service,the same were flagged off today by UT Home Secretary-cum-Transport Secretary Anil Kumar. Route numbers 2F and 2B from Sarangpur Barrier to ISBT,Panchkula,and PGI to Housing Board were introduced.

Also present on the occasion were Transport director T P S Phoolka and CTU general managers S P Parmar and Amrik Singh,among other CTU officials. The overall frequency between PGI and Housing Board Chowk is five minutes.

Home secretary Anil Kumar said,“Soon similar buses will be started on the metro routes in Mohali. We are also in the process of launching the night service of CTU buses. The modalities of the routes are being worked out.”
