UT admn to pay tribute to creator of Rock Garden on birth anniversary

The three-day event is being planned from December 15 to 17.

The UT Administration will be celebrating the birth anniversary of the creator of Rock garden Nek Chand on December 15.

The three-day event is being planned from December 15 to 17. The administration is also mulling to set up a cake made of mud outside the office of Chand in the Rock garden where visitors can pay their homage by putting candles in the cake.

Various cultural programmes will also be also be organised to mark the occasion. Painting competitions, dances, singing and other cultural programmes would be organised during the three-days.

A seminar will also be held on December 17 on Nek Chand, preservation and conservation of Rock Garden. Different workshops for school children will also be organised. It needs to be mentioned here that, Chand had brought Chandigarh on the international map of tourism and art.
