A two-day oral health awareness drive centered around the theme Marching Towards Sparkling Smiles will be organised at the Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital,Panjab University (PU) on Monday.
The event will commence with a lecture on Aiming at Spreading Awareness about Oral Health Care and Ill-Effects of Tobacco and Alcohol. A balloon rally by students,interns and faculty of the institute will follow this. Also,students will march from the institute to the student centre of the university.
An informative street play on the importance of oral hygiene,ill-effects of tobacco and other related products will be performed later with free toothpaste samples being distributed among the public. Principal Dr Ashish Jain said,An array of informative and educational events have been planned in the two-day event.
The second day of the event is expected to witness participation from students from various prestigious schools of the tri-city. It will begin with an audio-visual presentation,educating the children about common oral diseases and their prevention. A knowledge-based quiz competition and a painting competition will also be organized. Also,a dental exhibition,with three dimensional educational models,spreading knowledge about oral health will be presented by the students and interns of the institute. The event will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony on Tuesday.
