A two-day AWES youth festival began on Thursday at the Army Institute of Law (AIL),Mohali. Participants from army colleges under Headquarters,Western Command will compete in sports and cultural activities.

Professor Paramjit Singh,Dean of Academic Affairs,Punjabi University,Patiala was chief guest for the occasion that commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by a classical dance vandana and other group and solo performances,besides profile presentations by AWES Institutes.

Dr Tejinder Kaur,principal of AIL,said,“These fests are the evidence of commitment and sportsmanship which the youth of today share with each other.”

Prof Singh congratulated the institute for preserving the tradition by hosting such fests. The closing ceremony for the fest will be held on October 11.
