Two killed as car sneaks into bypass,hits tipper

Two members of a family including a three-year-old child were killed and four others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a car and a tipper truck in the yet-to-be-opened Pinjore-Parwanoo bypass.

Two members of a family including a three-year-old child were killed and four others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a car and a tipper truck in the yet-to-be-opened Pinjore-Parwanoo bypass.

Police said that the accident took place at around 4.30 pm when a family headed towards Kalka in their car and took the bypass route.

“At Bitna village,the Maruti Eeco car driven by Mahesh Kumar hit a tipper of the company constructing the road,killing two persons including a child and injuring four passengers,” said the Pinjore Station House Officer Mukesh Kumar.

The two deceased were identified as three-year-old Bhola and his 31-year-old cousin Ashu.

The four injured were identified as Mahesh,his wife Deepu,their daughter Khushi and another relative Bunty who were shifted to Panchkula hospital for treatment. Police said their condition is stable.

A case was registered in Pinjore police station.

Police said that they will investigate how the car entered the bypass when a barricade was in place near Pinjore and even a private security guard was deployed at the spot to ensure that no vehicle took entered the road.

Though the bypass road is almost complete,but it is yet to get the safety clearance from an independent agency,a prerequisite before opening the road.
