Two hotel managers held under Foreigners Act in city

Two hotel managers were arrested and a woman was booked for impersonation following a special search operation conducted by the UT Police in several hotels and guesthouses in the city.

Two hotel managers were arrested and a woman was booked for impersonation following a special search operation conducted by the UT Police in several hotels and guesthouses in the city.

The police found Andrew Josef and Zanifer William,supposed to be African nationals staying in Hotel Sagar in Sector 42 since March 6. On request,Zanifer could not produce her passport and further verification revealed that she was an Indian national and a resident of Zirakpur. She was then booked for impersonation.

Hotel Manager Ashok Kumar was arrested under the Foreigners Act for not providing record of their stay to the local police in time.

In another case,Sanjay Thakur,manager of Hotel Park Grand in Sector 43,was arrested under the Foreigners Act for not supplying information to the local police about the stay of an Iraqi national in the hotel.
