Two held for harassment in separate cases

A woman,a resident of Ram Darbar,has alleged that a man entered her house and attempted to rape her 11-year-old daughter.

A woman,a resident of Ram Darbar,has alleged that a man entered her house and attempted to rape her 11-year-old daughter.

The man entered the house on the pretext of asking for drinking water early this afternoon. Finding the young girl alone,he allegedly tried to hold her forcibly. The girl ran out of the house screaming for help. The police was called and a case was registered in the Sector 31 police station. The accused,Basant Behra (28),was arrested and booked on charges of rape,trespass,assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life.

The girl was sent for medical examination at GMCH-32. Further investigation is going on in the case.

In yet another case of outraging the modesty of a woman,a man,Rommy Dheer was found misbehaving with and threatening a girl near Sant Kabir Chowk. A case has been registered against him in Sector 26 police station on charges of using obscene acts,word and gestures to insult the modesty of a woman and criminal intimidation. The accused,a resident of Bapu Dham Colony,has been arrested.
