Salons running over-time,many rushing to learn basic dance moves,no parking space in shopping malls and party venues being flooded with calls for DJ Nights bookings. This was the party mood prevailing across the tricity today. All set to wear the dancing shoes and set the stage on fire,the party-goers were seen searching for outfits. Also,with a number of people moving uphill,the Kalka-Pinjore highway witnessed traffic chaos throughout the day.
With a Fire and Ice Party at Hotel Bella Vista,Sector 5,Panchkula,Jungle Bash at Hotel Western Court,Sector 43,Kolavari Di party at Chimney Heights,Zirakpur and Jugalbandi at Smoke House Deli,Sector 7,the residents grooved over a variety of themes. For the special Jungle Bash we had put up various jungle caricatures,leaves and bushes. Mumbai -based DJ Banny and Delhi-based anchor Sheena set the stage on fire with the rocking music and numerous contests, said Rajeev Kakkar,Group General Manager,Hotel Western Court.
City clubs and restaurants went all out to bring in performers from outside India. At Smoke House Deli,a live collaboration between Azeem Ahmed Alvi and a Persian percussionist C-NA fled all way long from Iran. A divine rock concert by Sahil Jagtiani at Himachal Bhawan,Sector 28,was also held.
While the youngsters in the city preferred to go out and party all night,with a number of outstation students staying back to join friends this
New Years Eve,there were others for whom welcoming the New Year at a crowded place was not the choice.
