Training programme held for bodies running counselling centres

The Chandigarh Social Welfare Board,in collaboration with the Center for Social Work,Panjab University,organised a training programme for councillors and senior functionaries of voluntary organisations running family counseling centres in Punjab,Himachal Pradesh and Union Territory of Chandigarh.

The Chandigarh Social Welfare Board,in collaboration with the Center for Social Work,Panjab University,organised a training programme for councillors and senior functionaries of voluntary organisations running family counseling centres in Punjab,Himachal Pradesh and Union Territory of Chandigarh.

The programme was organized at the Asia Pacific Commonwealth Youth Center,Sector 12.

The programme was inaugurated by Lalit Joshi,chairperson of the Chandigarh Social Welfare Board (CSWB).

The family counseling centers are being run by major voluntary organizations under the financial pattern of the Central Social Welfare Board,Ministry of Women and Child Development.

The family counseling centers run by the voluntary organisations provide re-conciliatory,rehabilitation and referral services to victims of marital discord,domestic violence,vulnerable circumstances,child abuse and other social evils.

Social scientists attached to the Center for Social Work,Panjab University,made presentations during the training programme.
