Reiterating that the two countries need to overcome the trust deficit to take trade ties to another level,former senior vice-president of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry,Sohail Lashari on Saturday said that tourism holds the key to improve the relations between India and Pakistan.
Talking to media during the visit of a 23-member delegation comprising paper merchants from Pakistan to Punjab,Lashari said,Tourism can go a long way in changing the face of both Amritsar and Lahore.
Lashari said that if the two neighbours worked together,they can emerge as a major power. India and Pakistan should put an end to the blame game, he said,adding that a liberalised visa regime could go a long way in improving relations between the two countries.
He said Pakistan was eagerly looking forward to the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Pakistan.
