On day four and five of the Festival de Cannes,Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan showed us why she is considered Indias brand ambassador to the festival. Back in form, the actor walked the red carpet on Sunday in an Elie Saab black gown with shimmering embroidery before attending the screening of Inside Llewyn Davis. Earlier in the day, while addressing the media, she showed off her petite figure in a white shirt and long black mermaid-style skirt. Her Indian look at the gala to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema, however, was disappointing. The black and gold Sabyasachi sari could have been elegant and muted had she not worn a gold band in her hair, the kind that decorated the neck of her blouse.
At the gala, the real showstealer was the team of Bombay Talkies the four directors along with producer Ashi Dua. Zoya Akhtars white and maroon Manish Malhotra sari offset the men in black Karan Johar,Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. Indian classical musician Anoushka Shankar performed at the event.
The teams of The Lunchbox and Monsoon Shootout completed Indias presence at the festival over the weekend as Vasan Bala,Guneet Monga,Ritesh Batra,Nimrat Kaur,Irrfan,Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Guneet Monga were spotted walking the red carpet.
