Tempo driver stabbed to death

A man,38-year-old Manohar,was allegedly murdered by three unidentified persons near the Chandigarh railway station on Sunday night.

A man,38-year-old Manohar,was allegedly murdered by three unidentified persons near the Chandigarh railway station on Sunday night. Manohar was a resident of Mauli Jagran who worked as a tempo driver. The incident took place at about 11 pm on Sunday night. The Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered a case of murder against three unidentified persons.

According to GRP police,the incident took place when Manohar and his friend Krishan parked their tempo at the railway station parking and left for their home. The duo took a short cut through the jungle area in between the railway station and Mauli Jagran.

“On their way home,three persons who were allegedly already hiding in the jungle area came out and nabbed Manohar. Krishan managed to flee. The three unidentified persons dragged Manohar into the woods and stabbed him many times,according to Krishan,” said a GRP police official.

Krishan called up the police control room. The GRP police rushed to the spot and Manohar was taken to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH),Sector 16. He was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.

The SHO of the Railway Police said that the police is investigating the matter. The police is also working on the theory that there may be some old dispute. However,no one has been identified or arrested yet.
