At a press conference of the Joint Action Committee of Teachers (JAC),on Wednesday,the conveners highlighted long pending demands of the teachers and the alleged prevailing malpractices in the education department.
The main agendas discussed at the conference included the alleged violation of financial norms,under which the education department had withdrawn crores of rupees from the government treasury and then transferred it to schools for purchase of uniforms. The JAC said the then DEO,found guilty by an enquiry committee for preparing bogus vouchers,had not faced any action till date.
The JAC also alleged some teachers,on Ex-India leave for many years,had been granted promotions,while eligible teachers had been deprived of their rights.
Talking about the leave to a deputationist,the JAC conveners mentioned that a deputationist could avail six months leave only at a time,while one of the teachers has allegedly been granted leave for over a year and half.
The committee has demanded stern action regarding the pending issues and appealed to the teaching community to assemble in the Rally Ground,Sector 25 on August 30 at 4:30 pm to find solutions to the problems at the earliest.
