More than a week after officials of Taneja Developers and Infrastructure (TDI) were booked following a court order in another case of land fraud, police action is still awaited. On November 30,a case was registered against TDI in Balongi police station following directions to register an FIR by Judicial Magistrate Bhupinder Mittal of the sub-division court in Kharar.

The accused officials include chairman D N Taneja,Ravinder Taneja,Sanyam Dudeja and Mohammad Miftah Sami.

“We have been busy with the Investors’ Summit and could not question the accused. However,we are going to arrest them soon,” said SHO Gurjit Singh.

According to police, complainant Rajiv Nagpal, resident of Sector 35,alleged he had bought a plot in TDI City near Sector 117 for Rs 60 lakhs. Although Nagpal paid for around 204 square yards of land,he was allotted only 120 square yards, following which he moved the court.

TDI was then booked for criminal breach of trust, cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, forgery and criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code.

In September,a similar case against the same officials was registered at the Sohana police station after the ruling of a Mohali court,in which the complainant had levelled similar same allegations.
