Student body raises issue of cleanliness in PU hostels

Student members of Shaheed Udham Singh Welfare Association,a student body of Panjab University (PU),have submitted a memorandum to the vice-chancellor highlighting the lack of cleanliness in the university hostels.

Student members of Shaheed Udham Singh Welfare Association,a student body of Panjab University (PU),have submitted a memorandum to the vice-chancellor highlighting the lack of cleanliness in the university hostels.

The association members have alleged that the washrooms at the Student Centre and the hostels are ill-maintained.

“The doors are broken in some of the washrooms and there is lack of sanitation,” said an association members.

Rupinder Singh,a student member from the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) said,“We have requested the authorities to provide proper seating arrangement at the student centre.”

The organization,which primarily organizes blood donation camps in the university for patients at the PGIMER and other hospitals,has been working for the welfare of students for the last two years.
