CHANDIGARH: St Xavier’s High School,Panchkula claimed the overall trophy on the concluding day of the ICSE Speed Skating Championship held at Sector 10 Skating Rink. In the U-6 girls’ Rink Race event,Takshita Joshi of St Xavier’s School,Panchkula claimed the top spot while Nandini Mahajan of St Xavier’s School,Panchkula claimed the second spot. The third spot was grabbed by Anshika of St Xavier’s School,Chandigarh. In the Rink race event in the U-10 boys category,Raghav Vashisht of St Xavier’s School,Panchkula claimed the top spot while Gurnoor Singh of St Stephen’s School,Chandigarh grabbed the second spot.

Shubham’s brace sets up SD School win

CHANDIGARH : Buoyed by a brace by Shubham,SD Public School,Chandigarh scored a 3-0 win over KC Public School on the second day of the CBSE Cluster XIII Football Tournament being played at St Soldier School,Sector 28. In another match of the day,Steeping Stone School,Sector 37 registered a 3-0 win over Florence Convent School,Solan while St Soldier School,Sector 28 scored a 3-0 win over Doon Valley School,Poanta Sahib..

RCF,Kapurthala win title with narrow 12-10 win

Mohali : Rail Coach Factory,Kapurthala emerged as the champions with a 12-10 win over Punjab Police in the final of the 11th Olympian Dharam Singh Memorial Hockey Championship which concluded at Shivalik Public School on Friday. At half-time,Rail Coach Factory,Kapurthala was leading by 6-5.

For the winning team,Gagandeep Singh and Karanpal Singh were the leading scorers as both scored five goals each. Gurpreet Singh and Ranjodh Singh scored one goal each for the winning team. For Punjab Police,former Indian captain Rajpal Singh scored seven goals but his effort went into vain. Jagneet Singh scored a brace while Jasbir Singh scored one goal. The winning team got a cash prize of Rs 41,000 while Punjab Police got a cash prize of Rs 31,000. Ratwara Sahib Academy won the fair play trophy. ENS
