BJP national vice-president and Rajya Sabha member Shanta Kumar on Saturday asked the India Against Corruption (IAC) to take up the issue and seek a probe into Robert Vadra’s wife Priyanka Gandhi’s property in Shimla.

“I have sent a letter to (IAC’s) Arvind Kejriwal informing that they had bought property worth lakhs in Himachal Pradesh. Why shouldn’t there be a probe into the assets of Robert Vadra located across the country,” Shanta said while talking to the media.

It was during earlier Congress regime that Priyanka was given relaxation under section 118 of the HP Tenancy and Land Reforms Act 1972 to buy land in Himachal Pradesh. Later, the BJP government also allowed her to buy additional land for construction of a residential bungalow.

Shanta’s letter comes a day after Kejriwal alleged that property worth Rs 300 crore was given at throwaway prices by real estate giant DLF to companies owned by Vadra,son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Shanta appreciated the stand taken by Kejriwal on Vadra and backed his demand for probe into the business deals and assets of Vadra family.
