The leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party criticised the recently-announced Rail Budget.

Satya Pal Jain,National Incharge of the Legal and Legislative Cell of the BJP has said that the recent Railway Budget has once again proved that Chandigarh is nowhere on the priority list of the Congress-led government. That is why this government is continuously ignoring the interests of the residents of the city.

Jain said that the city MP is an important minister in the Central Government for the last eight years, and people have voted Congress to power in the city Municipal Corporation for more than 10 years and the Prime Minister and five other senior central ministers are connected with Chandigarh in one way or the other. However, despite this during the last eight years,no serious steps have taken to solve long-pending issues concerning the railways, including introduction of an afternoon Shatabdi between Chandigarh and Delhi, doubling of Chandigarh-Ambala railway track, direct rail link on the Chandigarh-Rajpura and Chandigarh-Haridwar routes, construction of overbridge at Modern Housing Board Complex Manimajra and Vikas Nagar,Mauli Jagran Complex, more trains to other important cities in India.
