SD College girl dies,4 friends hurt as car rolls down gorge near Jabli

A girl lost her life and four of her friends sustained serious injuries when their car rolled down a gorge near Jabli on the Kalka-Shimla highway in the early hours of Friday.

A girl lost her life and four of her friends sustained serious injuries when their car rolled down a gorge near Jabli on the Kalka-Shimla highway in the early hours of Friday. All five students of SD College,Chandigarh,were returning to the city after a holiday in Himachal Pradesh.

Malvika,the deceased,was a resident of Rajpura in Punjab.

The injured — Rohan Arora of Dehradun,Abhishek of Karnal,Padmini of Amritsar and Anuradha of Kullu — have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Mohali.

All of them stayed as paying guests in the city.

According to the Solan police,Rohan was driving the car. He reportedly lost control over the vehicle as they reached Jabli and the car fell in the gorge. The accident occurred after 1 am.

The body of the girl has been sent to the Dharampur hospital for a postmortem.
