‘Rs 8,800 cr to be spent on towns in next 3 years’

An amount of Rs 8,800 crore will be spent during the next three years for the overall development of towns by providing cent per cent civic amenities,said Punjab Local Bodies Chief Parliamentary Secretary Som Parkash on Sunday.

An amount of Rs 8,800 crore will be spent during the next three years for the overall development of towns by providing cent per cent civic amenities,said Punjab Local Bodies Chief Parliamentary Secretary Som Parkash on Sunday.

Talking to mediapersons,Parkash said under a special comprehensive plan the civic amenities will include drinking water and sewerage besides strengthening of roads in the state.

He said that a special master plan was also being prepared for the development of villages as SAD-BJP alliance government was committed to the balanced and integrated development of both urban and rural areas.

The funds will be used in judicious and transparent way so that public money was spent for the development projects with complete integrity and honesty,he said.
