Residents of Sector 37D bemoan power cuts

Residents of Sector 37 D are facing the wrath of summers because of constant power cuts and inadequate supply of electricity for the last one week.

Residents of Sector 37 D are facing the wrath of summers because of constant power cuts and inadequate supply of electricity for the last one week. A nightlong power cut was experienced on May 31 and supply was irregular on June 1. Residents rue that the demand for additional transformers has not been fulfilled.

Dr Jagdish Jaggi,President,Welfare Association,Sector 37 said,“The residents are going through a really tough time dealing with the heat in the most heinous months of May and June. The officials,despite bieng contacted,are not responding.”

BM Kumawat,general secretary of the association said that he fails to understand what is taking so long to consider the need of additional transformers and install these. He alleged that it is a clear sign of irresponsibility and total negligence of the Electricity Department towards the plight of the residents.

The problems of lack of power and water supply are being faced in several sectors of the city.
