…that’s the hair colour to flaunt this summer, tell stylists
The change of season is imminent. But with the change comes new trends, flavours, looks and more. In the ever altering fashion world, one of the most looked forward to changes is the colour of your mop. As the new months roll in and the season takes a turn, most of us would be standing in front of the mirrors asking ourselves very mane questions. Somewhere, someone will ask,’Will my bronze highlights continue to make a statement this season’ to another who will contemplate getting rid of her copper tones there’s uncertainty abound. Colour apart, you will start wondering whether it’s time to snip off some length or head for another straightening session! It’s in times such as these that a meeting with a senior hair adviser comes in very handy.
“This summer expect lot of vibrant tones,” lists out Christopher Jacob,a senior technical advisor with Matrix. We caught up with Jacob at Hair Raiserz, the Matrix salon in Sector 19 where he was hard at work along with stylist Anju Bala spelling out the looks for summer. “It’s going to be a red hot affair for the colour to sport is red,” tells Jacob as we give him an exasperated look. “Not blood red of course but tones of the colour is what’s in,” he answers spinning around a model with a hair done up in layers with subtle red highlights. “The colour best suits the Indian complexion and closely resembles Mehendi tints,” explains Jacob running his hands through the model’s tresses.
Also this summer,Jacob insists on sticking to a colour palette that makes the most of violet shades as well. “When I say these colours, they might sound too bold. But the look comes in easy, there’s movement and lots of highlights in layers,” pitches in Anju who is now training the salon staff with the look. And yes,if you are wondering on the length of your hair, then here’s a summer-friendly answer. “The Bob is in like never before. Look at Bipasha,Priyanka in Fashion…the shorter look is the way to go. Team it up with colour and you are ready to make a statement,” explains Christopher. But if you want to hang on to your long locks, then get them layered. “Layering is evergreen and I recommend making the most of it this season too,” he signs off saying.
