9-year-old gets tangled in nylon ropes, dies

Police sources said Harush Chander, in his statement to the police, said they were all sleeping when Vassu went to the top floor and later, he was found unconscious. A DDR was filed at Sector 45 police post.

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy died after getting entangled in two nylon ropes on the roof of his house at Sector 45 here on Friday, said police. The incident occurred when Vassu Kumar was playing on the roof alone in the afternoon. DSP (South) Deepak Yadav said, “Inspection revealed that the boy’s body was struck between the ropes while playing and his neck was tied. His family members rushed the boy to GMCH, Sector 32, where doctors declared him brought dead. We have conducted an inquest proceeding.”

Harush Chander, the boy’s father, is a chemist and running his shop at Sector 45. The victim was a student of Class 5. Inspector Ajay Kumar, SHO of PS 34, said, “Family members have ruled out any foul play in the death. We have convinced the boy’s family to get the post-mortem done.”
