PU Youth Fest: GCG-11 girls win trophy

With the Post Graduate Government College for Girls in Sector 11 winning the over-all trophy,the four-day Panjab University Youth and Heritage Festival (Zone B) concluded today at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women,Sector 26.

The fest saw participation from nine girls’ colleges from Chandigarh and Punjab.

The last day,where Parvinder Singh Pruthi,Chief Commissioner (custom),Pawan Kumar Bansal,Member of Parliament and Garima Singh,Additional Commissioner,Income Tax were chief guests,saw events like classical dances and group dances.

In the classical solo dance,Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG),Sector 11,Government Home Science College,Sector 10 bagged the first and second positions respectively,while in the group dance category PGGCG-42,PGGCG-11 and Guru Gobind Singh College for Women,Sector 26 bagged first,second and third positions

respectively.

MCM DAV College,Sector 36,Dev Samaj College for Women,Sector 45 and GGSCW-26 won the first,second and third positions respectively in the folk dance category.

In the Gidhha event,National College for Women,Macchiwara,Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women,Jhar Sahib and GGSCW-26 got the first,second and third positions respectively.

Meanwhile,Government Home Science College,Sector 10,GGSCW-26 and PGGCG-11 bagged the first,second and third positions in the individual Giddha category.

The Post Graduate Government College,Sector 11,was awarded the over-all trophy for winning most of the awards in each category.
