In a move to strengthen the idea of one community,the community radio station of Panjab University,91.2 Jyotirgamaya brought together four religious heads on one platform to celebrate the 67th Independence Day on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the program,Sardar Amar Singh from Sector 34 Gurudwara congratulated all fellow Indians on the Independence day and took the opportunity to appeal to the community to encourage youth to fight drug addiction. Another religious head,Maulana Mohd. Ajmal Khan from Sector 20 Jama Masjid expressed his firm belief that irrespective of any situation,people from all religions will continue to live together in peace.

On the other hand,Father Charles Chandy from the Sector 7 Church expressed concern regarding the self-centred approach of people. He said,“Jesus in His prayers had said ‘Let them be one.’ Jesus served the people himself. Likewise,we all must serve our brethren.”

Meanwhile,Pandit Shanti Prasad from the Sector 46 temple appealed to all listeners to be passionate and have love for the country.
