Panjab Universitys (PU) Board of Finance today passed a new Assured Career Progression Scheme (ACPS) for the employees of the varsity ensuring at least three financial upgradations throughout the service tenure of each employee. The upgradation will commence after every ten years of service.
The Board also held that PUs pensioners will avail the benefits as admissible under the Punjab Governments rules and notifications.
In addition,the employees of the University have been entitled to benefits of revised pay scales,conveyance allowance,secretarial pay,special pay and mobile allowance,in accordance with Punjab Goverment notifications.
The Board sanctioned Rs 60 lakh fund for installing facilities of fire hydrant system,smoke detection and fire alarm system in various buildings of the university.
To curb the cases of unauthorised means during the examination i.e. use of mobiles and other communication devices,funds have been sanctioned for purchase of metal detectors. Also,Rs 39 lakh grant has been sanctioned for renovation of Houses of Vishveshvaran and Vishva Bandhu Institute of Sanskrit and Indological Studies,Hoshiarpur.
Another fund of Rs 65 lakh has been sanctioned for setting up of labs,furniture,structure network and bandwidth. The Board sanctioned Rs 185 lakh under centre with potential for excellence in particular area for Cultural Fixation on Honour : A Gender Audit of Punjab and Haryana.
Also,Rs 355 lakh have been sanctioned under centre with potential for excellence in particular area for Application of Nanomaterials,Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites.
