After getting a go ahead from the Election Commission of India (EC),the state chief electoral officer (CEO) on Tuesday issued an advisory to PTC Channel saying that it will monitor their ‘Tuhada Halka’ programme. If case anything objectionable was found, the CEO will then write to the EC. This comes after the CEO sent the case to the ECI for a final decision.

“We had sent all the records pertaining to PTC to the EC,as it had asked for it. The media monitoring committee of our office on Monday had decided to issue an advisory to the channel that they should not be biased from now onwards,” Special Chief Electoral Officer,Punjab,Usha R Sharma told the media here on Tuesday.

She said on the directions of the Election Commission of India,14 officers of Labour Department and 19 of Co-operation had been transferred on the request of their respective departments. Three Assistant Directors,Horticulture Department, and three Soil Conservator Officers had also been shifted as per the transfer advisory of ECI.

Sharma said the Phillaur DSP and Khamano BDO Manjit Kaur had also been transferred,as she is a niece of Akali candidate Justice (Retd) Nirmal Singh.

Taking note of the complaint against Yuvraj Bhaupinder Singh,son-in-law of Akali leader Jagir Kaur for seeking votes and announcing grants on her behalf at a government school at Bhulath in Kapurthala district,Sharma said a report had been called from the Kapurthala DC.
