Press Club president attacked,few arrested

President of the Chandigarh Press Club,Sukhbir Singh Bajwa,on Wednesday alleged he was attacked by four unidentified persons,who also damaged his car by throwing stones.

President of the Chandigarh Press Club,Sukhbir Singh Bajwa,on Wednesday alleged he was attacked by four unidentified persons,who also damaged his car by throwing stones.

Bajwa,who was on his way to his residence was allegedly attacked near Sector 53 around 2 am on Tuesday.

Talking to Chandigarh Newsline,Bajwa said,“I was coming from PGI towards my house in my car. When I reached Sector 53,four unidentified persons attacked my car with stones. I somehow managed to escape the spot and informed officials at Police Post 61.”

Though Bajwa’s car was damaged,he did not sustain any external injuries.

However,when Bajwa returned,with a team of police personnel,to the same road where his car was vandalised,he claimed to have found about four-five more cars damaged.

Bajwa claimed that the same unidentified persons had vandalised the other cars as well.

The police has apprehended a few persons and is in the process of verifying their identities.
