Pooja claims gold in inter-school 23 Kg judo event

Playing to her strength,Pooja of Government Model High School,Sector 34,was at her best in the 23 Kg Judo final. And the U-14 judoka did not disappoint as she claimed the title in the girls’ 23 Kg with a win over Vanshika of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Karsan,in the UT Inter-School Judo Tournament. Diskha Bisht of Government Model High School,Sector 43,and Muskan of ISDS-21 won the bronze medal in the U-14 category respectively.

It was a good show for Government Model high School,Sector 43 in the 27 Kg category in the same event as their judoka Simranjeet Kaur prevailed over Aanchal of Government Model High School,Sector 34,to emerge as the winner in the final. Savita of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Karsan and Shivani of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 38,had to settle for the bronze medal. In the 32 Kg category,Government Model High School,Sector 43,continued their fine run as Ishu ended the challenge of Muskan of AKSIPS,Sector 41,to be adjudged as the winner in the category. The bronze medal went to Ritu of Government Model High School,Sector 34,and Mehak of Government High School,Sector 40.

In taekwando championship,Raksha Goswami of Government Model High School,Manimajra,prevailed over Shweta of Government High School,Sector 38,to emerge as the winner in the 32-35 kg category in the U-17 girls’ event. Jyoti of Government Model High School,Sector 39,and Premsheela of Government Model High School,Sector 47,claimed the bronze medal in the same category. In the 35-38 kg category,it was easy going for Disha of Manav mangal School,Sector 31,as she scored an easy win over Pinky of Government Model High School,Mani Majra. The bronze medal went to Ranju of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 47,and Kanchan of Government High School,Sector 47.

In the chess event,Carmel Convent School,Sector 9,claimed the title in the girls’ U-14 category while Delhi Public School,Sector 40,claimed the second spot. The third spot was bagged by Ryan International School,Sector 49,while St Kabir Public School,Sector 26,grabbed the fourth spot.
