Two police vehicles were damaged when a police gypsy collided with a police truck near Hallomajra Light Point while reversing early on Wednesday.

Two police vehicles were damaged when a police gypsy collided with a police truck near Hallomajra Light Point while reversing early on Wednesday.

The accident took place on Wednesday night when a Police Control Room (PCR) gypsy had gone to examine an accident spot near Hallomajra. After reaching the spot,the incharge of the PCR vehicle,constable Dharamraj,informed Sector 31 police station about the incident and asked for a Investigation Officer (IO) to reach the spot.

The investigating officer reached the spot in a police truck. After handing over the matter to the IO,constable Dharamraj decided to drive the police gypsy himself and while reversing he rammed the gypsy into the stationary truck.

Dharamraj is reported to have driven the gypsy without possessing a valid driving license. He was accompanied by constable Vikas and driver Jaspal Singh when the incident took place.

The police have recorded a DDR at the Sector 31 police station and no case was registered against the erring constable.
