A police team from Chandimandir police station has been dispatched to Kaithal in Jind to arrest a suspended police constable who was booked for breach of trust after he reported to the higher officials that he had lost his service weapon.

According to police officials, they have booked one constable,Baljeet Singh, who was working with district police lines (DPL),Panchkula, for criminal breach of trust and a case was registered against him after he lost a fully loaded carbine gun.

Although the constable has told the police that he lost the service weapon while he was coming from his hometown in Jind, police said that his reply could not be relied on and that his questioning in the case is required,in order to find out whether he had sold the gun.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police,Panchkula,Ashwin Shenvi, said that the investigation in the case is currently on.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Chandimandir police station,Satish Kumar, said,“We have dispatched a team of police personnel to nab the police constable.”

In February, the constable reported at the district police lines,Panchkula, where he was posted, that he lost his service weapon.

The constable was provided with the weapon to escort some undertrails from Jind to Panchkula, but he reported to the police that he lost the weapon on his way back at Ambala.

Earlier,a departmental probe by police found that the suspended cop was guilty of negligence.

The constable had told the police that his carbine was stolen from near the Ambala bus stand when he was returning from his village in Jind on February 16.
