Parliamentary sub-panel to assess,review UT’s work

Members of the sub-committee on the Administrations of Union Territories of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs will be visiting Chandigarh on July 27.

Members of the sub-committee on the Administrations of Union Territories of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs will be visiting Chandigarh on July 27. The agenda of the study tour is to assess and review the working of various departments of the Chandigarh Administration.

For this purpose,interaction with the Adviser to the Administrator,other concerned officers of the Chandigarh Administration and representatives of the local Associations and Organizations is scheduled for July 27 at the UT State Guest House.

The members of the committee will also visit the first Government Smart School in Sector 53 to oversee the initiatives that have been undertaken by the Education Department,Chandigarh Administration.

A visit to Sector 49 is also scheduled for reviewing housing schemes that have been floated under the various slum housing projects. In addition to this,the committee will also visit the IT Park,Entrepreneur Development Centre,e-sampark centres and Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32 to oversee developments in the field of information technology,entrepreneurship development and medicine.

A presentation on the working of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh will also be held before the sub-committee on July 28.
