Unhappy with the decision of the Delhi Public School,Sector 40-C,to increase the fee by 25 per cent,a number of parents, whose wards study in the school came together to discuss the matter in the Law Bhawan auditorium,Sector 37,on Sunday.

The purpose of the get-together was to try and create a forum where parents could express their views pertaining to the school. The idea was also to promote the welfare of the school as well as their wards. The organisation has been named as the DPS Parents’ Association.

A parent,Aditya, said,“The fees are being raised at periodic intervals in the school. No communication, discussion or rationale is made before the same.”

Parents expressed their views and problems and a resolution was taken to try and increase the numbers of people in the organisation. This will allow them to represent their community well.

The gathering expressed an interest in periodic meetings and interaction with the authorities through representation. The e-mail id for the association is chddps@gmail.com,where parents will be able to send their details and further a data bank will be created.

The gathering also resolved to avoid any political colouring to the organisation so that it can maintain the primary focus of the welfare of the children and the school.
