Four Panthic groups, which constituted the Saka Darbar Sahib memorial panel set up to suggest the location and events for the June 1984 Memorial,on Wednesday submitted its final report to SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar.
Representatives of Dal Khalsa,Khalsa Action Committee (KAC),Panthic Sewa Lehar and Panch Pardani met Makkar at Teja Singh Samundhari Hall, and presented a detailed report of 37 pages, including photographs of probable venue for the memorial.
The key points raised in the report include setting up the memorial inside the Golden Temple premises and depicting the scene in pictorial form, said KAC spokesperson Mohkam Singh.
Leaders claimed that Makkar assured the delegation that the report would be discussed and deliberated upon at the executive meeting of the SGPC scheduled for May 3 at Anandpur Sahib.
Regarding the location, the panel has strongly advised that it should be near Akal Takht Sahib, which was the main centre of the battle and was heavily bombarded by the army.
The report has mentioned a timeline on the matter narrating the events since the SGPC passed its first resolution to build a memorial to honour 1984 martyrs on July 20,2002.
The report has been prepared by former IAS officer Gurtej Singh, contemporary author and analyst Ajmer Singh, former bureaucrat A R Darshi and human rights activist Professor Jagmohan Singh.
