Panjab University affiliated institutes: Counselling in government colleges on July 7

Different colleges have been made centres for conducting counselling for different courses.

ALL GOVERNMENT colleges in the city affiliated to Panjab University (PU), will hold centralise the counselling for various graduate and post graduate courses from the new academic session for 2016-17.

Different colleges have been made centres for conducting counselling for different courses. Counsellings for all will be held on July 7.

Students seeking admission to BCA course will have to visit Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46. The total seats for BCA are 200, whereas 80 seats are there in PG Government College for Girls, Sector11, 80 for Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11 and 40 come in Post Graduate Government College, sector 46. A total of around 1,000 forms have been received from students for this very course. The last year cut off for BCA was 65% for the UT pool and 75 per cent for the general pool.

Students looking forward for admissions to Bsc ( Medical and Bio Tech Honors) will have to report at Government College for Girls, Sector 42. PG Government college for Girls, sector11 has 160 seats for medical and 30 seats for Bio Tech Hons. Government College for Girls has a total of 140 seats for BSc medical. Government college for Girls, sector 42 has 120 seats for medical, 30 for microbial elective, 40 for Bio Tech Elective, 30 Bio Informative and 30 for Bio Tech Hons. Total of 1800 forms are received for Bsc medical and 420 are received for Bio Tech Hons. The competition is tough, cut offs are expected to be higher.

Students who want to pursue BBA will have to visit Government College for Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50. Combined counselling for two colleges, Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11 and Government College for Commerce and Business Administration will be held. The total seats for BBA are 120, wherein PG government college holds 80 seats and the other one holds 40 seats. Around 840 forms for BBA admissions are being collected.

For admission to Bsc ( Computer Science, Medical, non-medical), students are supposed to report at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11.
