The citizens welfare association (CWA) of Panchkula has welcomed the decision by the Haryana government to levy property tax on residents through self-assessment mode.

The CWA members have lauded the cabinet decision and congratulated CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda for taking action in favour of the large interest of people.

“The amendment in the rates of property tax by the government will give extra ordinary relief to the public because it was earlier inter-linked with the collector-rates and a massive rate variation between the plot holders of different sizes. There seems to be no more difference now among all the residents, irrespective of the plot-size,” said S K Nayar, president,CWA.
