Two persons have been arrested in the murder of a young woman who was allegedly killed by her in-laws at Rajiv Colony in Panchkula on Tuesday night. According to police,they have arrested the husband and brother-in-law of the deceased woman who have been identified as Naresh Kumar and Raju in the murder of a woman,Kusum,of Rajiv Colony,Sector 16,in the city.
On Wednesday,police registered a case of murder against the husband,brother-in-law and mother-in-law of the deceased woman for killing her. While they have arrested the girls husband and brother-in-law,police said that the mother-in-law of the girl,who has been identified as Nirmala,is absconding.
According to police the case was registered against the trio after the father of the deceased woman complained that she was killed by her in-laws. A post-mortem report in the case has revealed that the woman died due to suffocation and there were injury marks on her neck.
Police officials said that they had also recovered the diary of the girl earlier and had seized it as part of the investigation,but it has been found now that the diary does not throw any light on the murder of the girl. Police said that the girl,Kusum,was found hanging from the iron hook of the ceiling of her husbands house late Tuesday night. Investigation in the case is on,police said,adding that they have registered a case of murder.
The girl had contracted a court marriage with Naresh Kumar around five months ago and the father of the girl has alleged that she was murdered by her in-laws and that they had not been allowing her to speak to her parents.
The girl had fallen in love with the boy and both had later contracted the marriage at the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
