Out on morning walk,2 elderly women robbed of gold chains

In two separate incidents of chain snatching in Chandigarh on Wednesday morning,elderly women were robbed of their gold chains by motorcycle-borne miscreants when they were out on morning walks.

In two separate incidents of chain snatching in Chandigarh on Wednesday morning,elderly women were robbed of their gold chains by motorcycle-borne miscreants when they were out on morning walks.

Banmati Madoh (65),a resident of Sector 38,Chandigarh,was walking towards her residence at around 6.15 am when two men on a motorcycle snatched her gold chain and sped away. An eye witness said the accused were on a black Pulsar bearing registration number of Haryana. A case has been registered at the Sector-39 police station.

In another case,a 60-year-old woman,who had gone on her morning walk with her sister and husband near her residence in Sector 8,was robbed.

Two men on a motorcycle fled with her chain when her husband was a little distance away from the women. Details of the bike’s make and registration could not be noted.

A case has been registered at the Sector-3 Police Station. Both the cases are being investigated.
