One killed,several injured in 4 separate road accidents

Several persons were injured while one was killed in separate road accidents on city roads in the past few days.

Several persons were injured while one was killed in separate road accidents on city roads in the past few days.

A Manimajra resident was killed when his scooter was hit by a car near Shastri Nagar light point on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Devi Dyal (60), a vegetable seller. Meanwhile,the accused left the car and fled from the spot. Dyal was severely injured and admitted to PGI where he was declared brought dead. The accused was later arrested and a case of causing death due to negligence has been registered at the Manimajra police station.

In in another incident,due to a brake failure,a military police truck,which was on its way from Pathankot to Chandimandir,hit a motorcyclist at the Labour Roundabout on Thursday morning. The injured,Rakesh Kumar,a resident of Sector 41,was rushed to PGI with foot injuries.

In another incident,two unidentified motorcyclists were injured when a car being driven by Sector 20 resident Swarnjit Singh,hit their bike near Sector 35 roundabout on Thursday night. The accused claimed that he was attacked by a few persons and during his escape accidentally hit the bike. Singh accused a Mohali based taxi stand owner of attacking him.

In a separate accident,Parkashwati,a Sector 41 resident,was injured after she was hit by a Bolero Jeep near Sector-46/47 small roundabout on Monday.
