After registering its first victory in the Students’ Council elections of Panjab University (PU),on Wednesday, members of National Student Union of India (NSUI) celebrated their victory by relaxing in the university campus.

“After toiling for the last one month,we have now got time to relax and enjoy the fruit of the hard work done by the party,” said Chandan Rana, the new president of the PU Students’ Council.

“This victory is dedicated to each member of the party who has worked with complete enthusiasm to bring the party on this level and to our supporters. We have been calling all our supporters, whom we are in contact with,to thank them for their support,as this victory would not have been possible without their support,” he added.

Meanwhile,as the university declared Thursday a non-teaching day,the party members chose to spend the entire day on the university campus, which was quite peaceful after the frenzy of the elections.

As the Student Centre wore a deserted look, all party members were sitting in the canteen of University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) and discussing the various aspects of their victory. However, the discussions were interspersed with congratulatory calls from supporters for the party’s record win.

“As the results are formally declared,we can now prepare our strategy for the journey that we have to undertake,to fulfill the promises that we have made to our supporters,” said Manoj Lubana, party president,NSUI.
