The Chandigarh Police has not made any headway in the case of theft at Parkview Hotel in Sector 24 on Friday. According to the police, the CCTV footage of the floor where the theft took place was analysed Saturday but it has not provided any lead into the investigation as no outsider was seen entering the room during the time of the incident.

The police said the entire corridor had been booked by the family for the guests at the wedding and the footage shows only family members roaming in the area.

A case of theft under section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Police Station Sector11 Friday when Prabhjot Singh Anand,a resident of Partap Nagar in Kota district of Rajasthan, complained that three packets of jewellery and some other items had been stolen from his hotel room where he and his wife had been staying.

The couple were in town to attend a wedding. Around 9.30am,Anand left the room to go to his in-laws in the next room, while his wife went to the bathroom. The incident occurred during this time,Anand alleged.
