No headway in attempt to abduct a seven-year-old

Chandigarh: A day after the attempted kidnapping of a seven-year-old,Jashn Demla,on Monday,Panchkula Police has not been able to identify the abductors. The case is being handled by three teams of Sector-5 police station,Criminal Investigating Authority and detective staff.

Nupur Bishnoi,SHO of Sector-5 police station,Panchkula,said “Nobody saw the vehicle number,which has made it extremely difficult to locate it. However,investigations are going on.”

According to Jashn’s father,Vinod Demla,“Police tried to generate sketches of the kidnappers,but with no success.”

On Monday,Sector-9 resident Jashn had gone to a milk booth,near his house,when four men in a white Maruti van tried to abduct him. On forcibly trying to pull him into the car,Jashn bit one of them on the arm and ran to the milk booth seeking help. The men,however,managed to escape before they could be noticed. The milk booth owner informed Jashn’s family,who called the police.
