Seventy-two hours after Vinod Mittal and his four-year-old son went missing, the Panchkula police is groping in the dark about their whereabouts despite registering a case of abduction late on Monday against unknown persons.

Vinod’s wife,Sushma, had raised suspicion on her husband’s business partner,Raju,a resident of Baltana, who has been missing along with his family after the incident. Vinod’s family members said they were not satisfied with the pace of the investigation.

“Though the Mohali police claim that they have rounded up some of Raju’s acquaintances, they have no clue in hand. A Mohali police officer said as the Panchkula police have already registered a case, they would only assist them,” said Sushma. She added that police teams which had been dispatched to Ganganagar in Rajasthan have returned without any idea about Raju’s whereabouts.

“With each passing minute, the risk is increasing but the police investigations are moving at a snails pace,” said Sushma.

Talking to Newsline,Panchkula SP Sandeep Khirwar said both the Panchkula and Mohali police are working in coordination to solve the case as quickly as possible.
