Nikhil’s century propels Ludhiana against Mohali

Nikhil Chaudhary’s good form with the bat continued as he smashed a quickfire knock of 159 runs to help Ludhiana post a total of 357 for 7 on the first day of the match against Mohali,being played at the PCA Satdium in Mohali,during the Punjab Inter-District cricket tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy. After losing their openers early, the Ludhiana team was in a spot of bother. But Nikhil adjusted well to the situation and rescued his team. He hammered a sparkling knock of 159 runs to put Ludhiana into a commanding position. He was involved in a 121-run partnership with Sandeep who scored 71 runs. Nikhil hit 25 fours during his knock. Nikhil Chaudhary was the sixth batsman out with team’s total reading 275 for 6 in 68.4 overs. For Mohali,Khushpreet Singh (2 for 70),Anmoljeet Singh (1 for 40) and Abhijit Garg (1 for 14) were the main wicket takers. Ludhiana were 357 for 7 in 96 overs at close of first day’s play.

Mohit scalps five wickets

Led by Mohit Maria’s superb bowling performance (5 for 46),Jalandhar restricted Chandigarh to 214 runs in 70.2 overs in a match being played at DAV School,Sector 8,Chandigarh. In reply,Jalandhar were 26 for 2 in 22 overs at the end of day’s play. Jalandhar’s decision to bowl first worked well against Chandigarh. Bhagminder’s knock of 69 runs was the only bright spot in Chandigarh innings. Arjit Pannu (33) and Simranpreet (32) did play their part but other Chandigarh batsmen struggled to put up a good show. Mohit ran through the Chandigarh batting line-up. In reply,Jalandhar were 26 for 2 in 22 overs.

Anmolpreet cracks ton

Bolstered by Anmolpreet’s blazing unbeaten knock of 146 runs,Patiala were 339 for 5 in 95 overs against Amritsar at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium in Patiala. Anmolpreet Singh was star of the day for Patiala. Still looking good,he was unbeaten on 146 runs at the crease at the end of day’s play. His mighty knock came off 177 runs and included 18 boundaries. He was ably supported by Sanbir Singh (74) and Mandeepinder Bawa (51). For Amritsar,Rohit Kumar (2 for 82),Sunny (1 for 47) and Abhinav Sharma (1 for 59) were the successful bowlers.
